Thank you to the people who shaped my path.

We all have them.  The people who saw something in us before we fully saw it in ourselves.

They opened doors. Took a chance. Offered encouragement at just the right time.
And they changed the trajectory of our lives in large and small ways.

For me, my gratitude list is long:

  • The brilliant people I had the privilege to lead— and often taught me more than I taught them

  • Bosses who took a chance on me

  • Mentors who sparked curiosity and opened new ways of thinking

  • Peers who challenged me, collaborated with me, and had my back

  • Clients who gave me a chance to serve, innovate and lead

  • Family and friends who believed in me unconditionally

Some offered bold opportunities. Others gave quiet encouragement. Every one of them helped shape the leader, and the person, I’ve become. Thank you to all of you. I carry your influence with me.

Gratitude matters.

It isn’t just a feel-good sentiment.  It’s a leadership skill.
Leaders who practice gratitude build more trust, inspire loyalty, and create cultures where people feel seen and valued.
It helps shift attention from what's lacking to what's working:  from fear to possibility.
In a world that often rewards relentless drive, gratitude creates space for reflection, connection, and grounded confidence.

When I coach leaders, we often dig into their own stories.

We use gratitude as a grounding tool.
When a client is feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their purpose, we often pause to reflect on the people and moments that shaped them.
We map out the lineage of influence: the mentors, peers, and supporters whose belief still echoes.
This practice reorients and revitalises them.
It helps them lead from a place of abundance rather than scarcity.  And reminds them that they don’t have to do it all alone.

And something powerful happens when they reconnect with the people who saw their potential early on.

  • They remember who they were before the doubt crept in.

  • They tap into what made them bold, ambitious, creative.

  • They reclaim confidence, not from achievements, but from who they are at their core.

From that place, new possibilities start to open.

We explore questions like:

  • Who took a bet on you and what did they see?

  • What version of you were they believing in?

  • What’s a bold step that version of you would take today?

  • Who might you offer a break to today?

This is some of the deepest, most affirming work we do.
It unlocks insight. Inspires change.
And reminds people of their worth, well before the next promotion or performance review.

So, who gave you your break?
Who saw your light before you fully did?
